Pixel Cocoon is a video installation that merges organic forms with digital transformation. The piece features a projector encased within a cocoon-like structure, suspended from a tree to evokes a sense of natural metamorphosis, akin to a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis.

The projection evolves from a single pixel which continuously divides and multiplies to a display of glitchy, pixelated visuals. The imagery develops into a chaotic yet captivating sequence, culminating in the depiction of a person jumping up into the sky.

A lone pixel, devoid of context, appears abstract and insignificant. However, as pixels accumulate and interact, they form recognizable shapes and images, ultimately conveying a deeper meaning. This metamorphosis mirrors the human experience, where individual characteristics and actions contribute to the formation of a subject with agency and identity.

Pixel Cocoon reflects on the point at which a collection of objects or actions coalesces into a subject, blurring the lines between the animate and inanimate, the significant and the trivial. It emphasizes that meaning and subjectivity are not inherent but emerge through relationships and contexts.
