Peach Blossom Land 몽유도원도 is a video installation that reimagines An Gyeon’s renowned 1447 painting, “Mongyu Dowondo (Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land).” The original work depicts a utopian vision of a mythical paradise, a realm of serene beauty and tranquility. In this installation, the idyllic landscape is brought to life in a digital realm, creating an immersive and dreamlike experience for the viewer.
The installation transports viewers into a virtual world where the essence of “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” is reinterpreted through contemporary digital media. By blending traditional Korean artistic motifs with modern technology, the piece references the original painting which has been stolen during the Japanese occupation.
